Weekend Links: Recipes, Printables and More!

I'm having one of those mornings where I am craving some peace and quiet. A break from the kids fighting. A break from the responsibilities for the day that are waiting for me to tackle. So for the next 20 minutes, I'm cozying up with my morning cup of coffee and I'm going to zone out the noise surrounding me. Here are my lazy Sunday morning weekend links:

I made these Baked Parmesan Zucchini strips from Damn Delicious last week and they were so good that I kind of ate them all and didn't share with the rest of the family!

My Favourite Supplements To Keep Me Heathy

Getting my supplements on this weekend...missing from the photo: B-12 supplement bottle.

I've never been really good about taking any vitamins or supplements consistently but since I'm really committed to get healthy this year I've decided to try harder. 

Here's what I'm currently starting with:

- Omega 3 Fish Oils for my heart and skin and IBS
- B-12 to give me some energy (having kids who wake up during the night and at 5 am is not fun when you also have to work full time!)
- Biotin for hair, skin and nails
- Odourless Garlic to help keep my immune system strong, I am so sick of getting sick!

Reaching Our Goals Takes Time . . . And That`s OK!

On January 5, 2016 I saved this picture as my screensaver on my phone...and I posted it on Instagram to declare my goal of getting back to this healthy weight.

Was I at the weight I wanted to be? No, I actually thought I needed to lose another 10 pounds. Crazy right?? I am pretty positive it was the negative self talk that led me to stray from my new healthy lifestyle....and to a 15 pound weight gain.

So the question is, am I back to my svelte self? Nope, I'm not. I can honestly say I haven't even lost 1 pound...but some of my clothes are a bit looser so I know I'm losing inches. And guess what? That's OK you know why? Because I know that I am working toward the goal of being in great shape again and it will happen when it happens. If I did it before....I can do it again! I think the key is to not be so hard on ourselves all the time.

Change takes time. We might not like it, but the key is to not be so hard on ourselves all the time!

The last couple of weeks I have started working out more consistently and I've upped my portion control game too. I know that I`ll get to my step at a time. Cheer's to a fabulous April!
